New Construction Radon Installation for Builders & Developers

The cheapest, cleanest time to solve radon is before the concrete is poured. We partner with home builders and commercial developers across the Denver metro to rough-in code-compliant radon systems during construction—fully concealed, inspection-ready, and built to Colorado code.

Why Build Radon-Ready

Radon Systems Belong in the Plans, Not the Punch List

Colorado adopted radon-resistant new construction requirements for a reason: nearly every foundation on the Front Range sits on uranium-rich soil, and roughly half of Colorado homes test above the EPA action level. Installing the system during construction costs a fraction of a retrofit—and the result is invisible, with piping routed inside walls and chases instead of up the side of the finished home.

We work directly with builders, superintendents, and developers on everything from single custom homes to full subdivisions and multifamily sites. Our crews coordinate with your schedule—sub-slab prep before pour, vent stack rough-in at framing, and fan activation with verification testing before closing—so radon never holds up an inspection or a closing date.

Built Into Your Schedule

We slot into your construction sequence—footings, pre-pour, framing, and finish—without ever holding up your trades.

Code-Compliant Rough-In

Sub-slab loops, sealed membranes, and vent stacks that meet Colorado RRNC code and pass inspection the first time.

Fraction of Retrofit Cost

Rough-in during construction costs far less than retrofitting a finished home—and adds a selling point for buyers.

Completely Concealed

Piping runs inside walls and chases with rooftop venting—no exterior pipe runs on your finished elevation.

Residential New Builds

Invisible Protection for Every Home You Build

Buyers in the Denver market know to ask about radon. A passive rough-in—or a fully activated system—installed during construction means every home you deliver is protected, sellable, and free of the exterior piping that makes retrofits stand out for the wrong reasons.

  • Sub-slab perforated loop and gravel prep before the pour
  • Vent stack routed through interior walls and out the roofline
  • Passive rough-in or fully activated fan systems—your choice per plan
  • Verification testing and documentation ready for closing

Commercial & Multifamily Construction

Rough-In at Development Scale

From townhome rows to full multifamily sites, we design and install radon rough-in across entire developments—coordinating with your GC, working footings-to-roof, and delivering the documentation your project needs for code sign-off.

  • Site-wide rough-in phased with your pour and framing schedule
  • Multi-building layouts engineered to ANSI/AARST standards
  • Direct coordination with GCs, supers, and inspectors
  • Consolidated compliance documentation for the whole project

Our Process

Radon Rough-In, Phase by Phase

We mirror your construction sequence so radon work never blocks a pour, an inspection, or a closing.

  1. Pre-Pour: Sub-Slab Prep

Before concrete, we place the perforated collection loop and riser stub-up in the gravel base and seal penetrations—ready for your pour and footing inspections.

  2. Framing: Vent Stack Rough-In

During framing we route the vent stack through interior walls and chases to the roofline, with an attic junction ready for a fan if activation is needed.

  3. Finish: Activate & Verify

At finish we install the fan (if specified), run verification testing, and hand over documentation showing levels below 2.7 pCi/L—ready for closing.

FAQ

New Construction Radon Questions

Have a question we haven't covered? Call us at (303) 990-4506 and we'll walk you through it.

Is radon-resistant new construction required in Colorado?

Yes—Colorado adopted statewide requirements for radon-resistant new construction in residential buildings, and many Front Range jurisdictions enforce RRNC provisions in their building codes. We install rough-in systems that meet code and pass inspection the first time.

What is the difference between a passive and active system?

A passive system uses the sub-slab loop and vent stack to move radon by natural stack effect—no fan. An active system adds an inline fan for guaranteed reduction. We rough-in every home fan-ready, so activating later is a simple, inexpensive upgrade if post-construction testing shows elevated levels.

How much does radon rough-in cost during construction?

A fraction of a retrofit. Because the slab is open and the walls are unfinished, materials and labor are minimal compared to retrofitting a finished home. We provide per-plan pricing for builders and volume pricing for subdivisions and multifamily projects.

Will radon work slow down our construction schedule?

No. Sub-slab prep happens in hours before your pour, and vent stack rough-in runs alongside your other framing-stage trades. We coordinate directly with your superintendent so radon never appears on the critical path.

Do you handle both single homes and full developments?

Yes. We serve custom home builders, production builders, and commercial developers—from one custom home in Arvada to phased multifamily sites across the Denver metro.
